,2024 Laingbuisson Excellence in Homecare Award
On 21st November, SweetTree won the Laingbuisson Excellence in Homecare award. This great achievement is a testament to the team’s dedication, as well as the invaluable trust placed on us by our clients and the wider community.
For SweetTree, this marks a major milestone in its 22 years of life. Since its foundation in 2002, the care provider has grown and expanded to provide specialist care for very diverse ages and needs, including brain injury care and support for learning disabilities. Over the past few years, they have achieved two consecutive Outstanding ratings by the CQC, along with multiple regional and national care awards. Even today, SweetTree remains true to its initial mission – to achieve the highest quality of life for all its members through the provision of exceptional care and support.
The Laingbuisson judges themselves summarised the win as follows:
“This application demonstrates strong individual and community benefits with a profitable focus on social responsibility, showcasing impressive growth and high quality. Their unique holistic approach, including innovative technology, sets it apart, earning high marks in differentiation and innovation. The judges agreed that this entry stands out for its strong emphasis on learning and development”.
Aside from this win, SweetTree has received multiple other nominations, such as the Health Investor Awards, and award wins, such as the Great British Care Awards. Recognitions like these are particularly important because they provide an opportunity for support workers to be celebrated for their hard work. Despite being the backbone of the care sector, it is sadly not very usual to see awards dedicated to them. However, our brilliant Dementia support worker, Raisha Joshi, won this year’s Newcomer Award for her excellent achievements in her first year as a professional care worker. Our care coordinator Diane Rampersad also received a High Commendation in the Care Coordinator category. These individual achievements fill us with pride, and we aspire to continue recognising and celebrating our staff as well as we possibly can.
Excellence in Homecare: What It Means
More important than the title, achieving excellence in homecare is a great benchmark for us, and we strive to achieve it consistently. Since it’s a multifactor effort, we constantly work on improving all aspects of our business beyond providing care. For us, excellence must be in everything we do, which is why we are proud to claim the following:
- Two consecutive CQC ‘Outstanding’ ratings following the last two Care Quality Commission reviews in 2026 and 2020. This achievement can only be claimed by 1% of providers!
- Our own award-winning Training Academy. SweetTree Care Training Academy offers training and development opportunities for our staff and ensures that the highest possible quality standards are met throughout the business.
- A dedicated care team for every client. All clients get assigned a dedicated care manager, care coordinator, support workers, and care quality auditors.
- A bespoke client-support worker matchmaking service. Our coordinators match our clients with compatible support workers. They consider their care needs, personalities, and other relevant factors that could help their care planning.
We are proud to be a positive part of our client’s journeys and will continue to strive for the best possible provision of care. Winning the Excellence in Homecare award is a moment of immense pride and reflection for SweetTree. It not only highlights our achievements but also inspires us to continue raising the bar in the care sector. This milestone is a tribute to our incredible team, whose dedication and compassion make a difference every day, and to our clients, who trust us with their care. As we look to the future, we remain committed to delivering exceptional, person-centered care while celebrating the hard work of our staff and striving for even greater innovation and excellence. Together, we’ll continue building a brighter, more supportive future for all.
