Supporting you in your career in care
Whatever your ultimate career objectives, the Pathways programme is designed to ensure that you feel confident, knowledgeable, and fully supported in delivering the best possible client care during your time at SweetTree, and throughout your career.
The programme will support you in your care career and can help you to:
– Consider your goals and ambitions as a support worker.
– Deliver the highest quality of care, based on accredited training, the guidance of experienced mentors, and supported work experience.
– Grow the skills and experience required to care for specialist clients, such as individuals with learning disabilities, brain injuries, or dementia.
– Develop the administration, communication, and leadership abilities to work in care management
– Further your education
SweetTree is rated as Outstanding by the CQC for being ‘Well-led’: “There was a strong emphasis on continuous training and professional development so care staff and managers’ skills were sustained and improved. There is a leadership and management framework for existing and aspiring managers and its aim is to help to develop future leaders.”
CQC Report 2020
Our Pathway programme also forms part of the company’s wider commitment to providing ongoing investment in training and development for team members. This continued commitment has seen SweetTree become the first home care provider in the UK to achieve the highly regarded AIM Awards Quality Mark for our in-house training programmes, and in an effort to help establish care as a professional qualification, each of SweetTree’s in-house courses now also carries Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points. We believe this sets us apart as an employer, by providing real career development opportunities especially for care team members who wish to build on the experience they gain with the organisation, to go on to forge a career in nursing, social work or rehabilitative therapy.
Full individual support for learning
All SweetTree Care Academy training, access to regular student workshops, learning spaces, and one-on-one assistance from learning managers is free to SweetTree staff. We’ll support you through your assignments and exams with the understanding that translating care practices onto paper can have its challenges.
We want to encourage and enable team members to develop through more senior roles but also to offer a platform for those wishing to build on the extraordinary work they do here at SweetTree. Providing a clear structure for learning continually maintains high-quality care and best practice, as well as fulfilment and opportunity for our teams.
